Serena Kalish, Psychiatric Physician Assistant, PA-C
About
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Physician Assistant providing care to adults navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood-related concerns, and other mental health challenges. I also work closely with individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period, including those who are nursing, with a focus on perinatal mental health and the unique emotional and physical transitions that occur during this time.
My approach to care is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in respect for each patient’s lived experience. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and participating actively in decisions about your care. I value clear communication and shared decision-making, and I work with patients to develop treatment plans that feel both effective and sustainable.
I am especially mindful of the hesitation many people feel around psychiatric medications, thus, I take time to review risks, benefits, expected timelines, and alternatives in a transparent and non-judgmental way. Drawing on my training, I am able to integrate evidence-based guidance for medication safety for women who may be pregnant or breastfeeding—helping patients make informed choices that support both mental health and overall well-being.
Sessions are collaborative and individualized, with an emphasis on education, empowerment, and realistic goal-setting. My goal is for you to feel supported by a compassionate medical professional as you move toward improved mental health, clarity, and balance.
