Kiki Chen, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP - Connect RF Medicine
About
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, licensed in NY, NJ, FL, NC, SC, VT, and HI. I completed my PMHNP training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My expertise focuses on working with the 18+ population, experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, perimental health, OCD, trauma, and other mental health challenges.
In my approach to client care, I prioritize warmth, support, and open-mindedness. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment where empathy and understanding take center stage, allowing you to feel truly seen and heard. I am deeply committed to honoring your values and concerns, while respecting your autonomy and choices as you navigate your journey toward personal growth and healing.
I recognize that clients are very apprehensive about beginning medication and have a lot of concerns about side effects, length of treatment, and the long term impact to overall health. I do not take these concerns lightly and provide open and honest dialogue about the side effects, time required for relief to be felt, and options for stopping medication. I work with many first time patients and provide as much time, education and patience as they need to get the information they are looking for in order to make an informed decision which can also include deciding not to begin meds at this time without feeling shame.
You can expect sessions to be collaborative, formulating a personalized plan tailored to your unique needs and goals, resulting in you feeling empowered and motivated with a compassionate medical professional, supporting your journey towards improved mental health and well-being. I am fluent in English and Mandarin and offer virtual sessions.
