Victoria Yona, MHC-Intern
About
I am a Mental Health Counseling Intern dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care while working under clinical supervision. My approach to counseling is warm, empathetic, trauma-informed, and client-centered. I believe that healing begins in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to share their experiences and work toward meaningful change.
My goal is to help individuals recognize their strengths, build resilience, and develop practical tools for navigating life's challenges. I am fluent in Russian and Romanian and I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, relationship difficulties, and parenting-related stress.
My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Strengths-Based Counseling, and Trauma-Informed Care. I recognize the lasting effects that trauma can have on thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily functioning, and I strive to help clients process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for them. I also value helping clients increase self-awareness, remain present in the moment, and better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and experiences influence their lives.
Taking the first step toward counseling can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
