Lamar Johnson, MFT-LP
I am a MFP–LP, practicing in New York State. I practice individual and couples therapy and find myself drawn to working with the youth and older adult population, A.A., populations of West Indian, and those within the LGBTQIA+ community. I also work within diagnostic evaluations, providing assessments and evaluations for clients to help guide treatment of ADHD/ADD, ASD, anxiety, depression, personality disorders and differential diagnoses.

My interests lie in working with couples and families, as well as individuals within the context of the family system. I am a Mental Health Counseling Intern practicing in-person, and via telehealth, in NY. I work with individuals, couples, and families. My therapeutic style is holistic and integrates several evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Feminist Therapy. I find myself drawn to working with women of color who struggle with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) or complex trauma. In the past, many of my clients have been identified as highly sensitive (HSP) or neurodivergent.
